My prices vary, based on...

  • How much of the body I draw

  • Shading and its complexity

Character Sheets & Pages

I charge differently for character sheets and character pages than I do with characters commissions. I only offer these for pre-existing characters and without shading options. Base prices are expressed below.

Reference sheets
Contains references for a single focus character's design for $50 USD.
Small art of minor characters (pets or friends that appear 1-2 times) is accepted

Sketch pages
Uncoloured sketches of different characters for $35 USD.
Maximum of 3 characters accepted

Character sheets/pages
General art of a singular focus character for $50 USD.
Will not include reference aspects like colour palettes and minor detail close-ups. Small art of minor characters (pets or friends that appear 1-2 times) is accepted

Backgrounds

Interested in a full-on scenic depiction, or something small to fill up space? Here's everything you need. I offer three background options: simple/standard, complex, and scene.
Individually, backgrounds follow separate change restrictions, separate from character changes. See below for more details.

Simple/Standard Backgrounds
Free
Gradients, flat colours, free domain pictures, and/or simple designs like grids and sparkles. Very simple foreground, middleground, and background—and small props at most. You have up to two minor changes for simple and standard backgrounds.

Complex Backgrounds
+25-75% of base price
These would include more complex elements, which includes setting. A less complex background might just have simple design elements, like the first three here, whereas a more complex and therefore higher-priced background like the last image contains a more complex setting with props. The latter would have counted as a scene if more than the head was drawn. These can have up to two minor changes.

Scenes
+75%-95% of base price
These would include more complex elements. Props, scenery, and setting. A less complex background might just have simple design elements, like the first three here, whereas a more complex and therefore higher-priced background like the last image contains multiple layers (background, middleground, and foreground.) Scenes come with two minor changes and one major change.

add-ons & extras

Some features come with additional costs. You can learn about them here.

Chibi Style
-25% of base price
I have a discount for chibi art! Just let me know ahead of time if you'd like something in my chibi style.

Lineless Work
25-50% of base price
Artwork, clean and without lines. Lineless art takes extra time to clean up and solidify shapes without the lineart there, so I do charge more for it.

Complex Designs
+25-75% of base price
Design complexity is decided by me. Gradients, intricate details and patterns, and complicatedly crowded details qualify for complex designs that require an upcharge. Designs that either feature very little, insignficant, or none of the above have no upcharge.
Note: features often included in a reference sheet (like a colour palette reference) don't qualify for complexity upcharges.

Complex design - upcharge
Features gradients and intricate patterns

Simple design - normal charge
Simple patterns that don't require added time and effort

Rush Time
50-75% of base price
If your commission is time-sensitive and has a near deadline, it may qualify for a rush upcharge. Depending on my schedule, I may not be able to take a rushed commission.

customs

As opposed to drawing a pre-existing character, I create an entirely new one for you whenever you commission a custom. I take extra time to make sure that I uphold your vision, spent communicating more than I would during a regular commission. They may include mock-ups of finer details like patterns or textures.

Up to three mock-ups for a detail will be provided. If you ask and receive mock-ups, it counts as one change. Whether that change counts as minor or major depends on the complexity of the combined mockups. Such complexity is decided by yours truly.

I update these examples infrequently and this is by no means a properly-sized portfolio, so I heavily recommend that link!

changes: specifications

As I create your commission. you have a limited amount of changes you're allowed to request. Characters and backgrounds each have separate change restrictions. See below for character change restrictions, and visit my backgrounds page for background change restrictions.

  • Three (3) minor changes

  • One (1) major change

Anything that takes more than 10 minutes is usually considered a major change, and anything that takes less than 10 minutes is typically considered a minor change. If you don't ask for a detail before I start and I hadn't asked for your input on that detail, then one minor change would be used.

Example Interaction

I sent a work-in-progress photo of a client's custom. During the design process I had forgotten some of the details they had originally requested, and they pointed that out.

I owned up to that mistake, and fixed it later on. Because they had initially requested those details, none of their allotted changes were used.
